Assisting - making the connection between the intention of the
teacher and the experience of the student
Join the world class teaching team of Baptiste Power Yoga for a fun and
interactive training! This hands on training will spark your true
understanding of asana. You will experience principles of alignment with a
deepened awareness which will allow you to fully understand any pose. You
will learn concrete skills for safe, effective hands-on assisting.
"Asana is perfect firmness of body, steadiness of intellect, and
benevolence of spirit." - B.K.S. IYENGAR
This workshop is open to everyone! You need not have completed any of BPYI's
teacher training programs to participate. Teachers and non-teachers alike
will receive great benefit from this training. Teachers will gain confidence
in their interactions with students on and off the mat. Non-teachers will
receive a new perspective of their personal practice.
Your days in Boston will be balanced between practicing, learning alignment
principles, and giving and receiving assists. Your evenings will be free,
allowing you to explore our great city with your new yoga friends.
*** This program is the prerequisite for all other Baptiste Power Yoga
assisting opportunities, including Boot Camps, Personal Revolution Weekends,
and studio classes. Once you have completed this training, you are eligible to apply for our Bootcamp "Assistant in Training" Program.

"What a great workshop. The blend of the three teachers was awesome. The body: Claire, the assists: elizabeth and the energy, Gregor...a wonderful and moving experience."
-- Amanda Cepeda
"This assisting workshop far exceeded our expectations. What really made the program great was the combination of Claire, Gregor, and Elizabeth. They offered an incredibly balanced approach to assisting through comprehensive discussion and practice in the areas of anatomy, energy/intention, and technique. Thanks for such an AWESOME weekend!"
Beth and Terry Kiely
"The Anatomy & Physiology was insightful, detailed, yet entirely accessible. The entire experience taught me so much about my own way of being; what my strengths are and what challenges I must work through. I will definitely be applying for Level I Teacher Training in either the Catskills or Mexico in 2008."
-- Chris Lucas
"I attended the Assistant Training Program to simply learn more about my practice. But by the end of the 4 days, I was convinced I needed to become an assistant! It was a really powerful experience. Thanks for a fun, informative and spiritual weekend!"
-- Jill Roughan
"A great program. The anatomy, the whole sense of intent in how a person approaches another, and the hands-on application - all of these were intertwined. Thank you for this opportunity to both challenge myself and surrender to things unknown."
-- Kyoungho Koh
