What Happens When You Stop Doing It Alone?

There are some things we understand differently when we’re around other people.

A new idea can land differently when someone else says it.

A challenge can feel lighter when you realize you’re not the only one experiencing it.

And sometimes, simply hearing how someone else is approaching their practice can shift the way you see your own.

That’s one of the gifts of community.

It gives us somewhere to bring the questions we’re carrying.

Not necessarily to find immediate answers, but to hear different perspectives. To get inspired. To remember that there are many ways to move forward.

In yoga, we spend a lot of time turning inward.

We notice our breath.
We observe our habits.
We learn how we respond when things get uncomfortable.

But the practice doesn’t end when we step off the mat.

How we listen to another person.
How we communicate.
How willing we are to learn from someone with a different experience.
How generously we share what we’ve discovered.

These are practices too.

And when we find a community where people are willing to do those things together, something shifts.

We stop seeing growth as something we have to figure out by ourselves.

We start learning from one another.

Take this with you this week

Think about the people who have influenced your practice.

Maybe it was a teacher who offered one sentence that stayed with you.

A fellow practitioner who showed you another way of approaching something.

A conversation that challenged an assumption you didn’t realize you were carrying.

What did that person give you that you couldn’t have discovered on your own?

And then consider:

What might you have to offer someone else?

You don’t need to be the most experienced person in the room to contribute.

Sometimes what we share is a lesson.

Sometimes it’s encouragement.

Sometimes it’s simply showing up, listening, and being willing to connect.

That’s how communities grow.

Come be part of the conversation

If you’re curious about connecting with more like-minded leaders in the Baptiste community, we’re opening the doors for an Affiliate Community Gathering on Wednesday, September 2 at 4pm ET.

It’s open to current Affiliates and anyone who’s simply curious about what affiliation could look like.

You’ll have a chance to meet with Baron and the Baptiste team, hear what’s happening inside the Affiliate Community, ask questions, and get a feel for the community for yourself.

No matter where you are in your journey, you’re welcome to come listen, connect, and explore.

Join us Wednesday, September 2 at 4pm ET →

And if you’re feeling called to deepen your personal practice alongside your connection to the community, Journey Into Mastery: Level Two begins September 20.
